vivid and canon 2017

On Sunday I joined the Canon Collective for a walking tour of Vivid Sydney (the annual festival of lights)

The walking tour part camera workshop gave a unique perspective of the lights around the harbour -yes they light up the Opera House! on the tour you get to loan a Canon camera (you get to keep the memory card and print some photos)

Heres my favourite shot from the night ( yes a clever double exposure)

Vivid is on until the 17th of June more info on the Canon Collective Walking tours here

paramount building surry hills

Bondi is my favourite neighbourhood in Sydney of course but Surry Hills does come a close second.

I was rather excited to visit the new Paramount building in Surry Hills the new hip destination – it is really the new place to be.

The building is the Former Paramount Pictures Building and is filled with history, it really is a cool building and has been turned into such a great space.

So there are 4 great reasons to head there…

Paramount Coffee by the same people as nearby Rueben hills

Our Golden Age Cinema and Bar A Boutique cinema and cool Bar – think great new and classic movies and cool cocktails!

Tokyo Bike – cool bikes in a cool space

Pop Plant a pop up like plant shop – Im still loving indoor plants!

i like birds – paddington store visit

Home wares store I Like Birds in William Street Paddington is a cute and cosy store with an eclectic and fun mix of old and new – with a strong focus on the decorative. Owner Tamara has an eye for vintage finds (regularly scouring markets) mixed with new pieces creating a treasured layered look. MJG first met Tamara in her previous incarnation as a florist when he first moved to Sydney. Tamara first opened her store on William Street just over a 2 years ago and recently moved into a new space across the street for the improved window space – in which you will always find fun, eye catching displays. MJG loves to pop in and visit often – so be sure to pop in and take a look the store is constantly changing with new things all the time.

make me iconic

Make Me Iconic is a Melbourne based design company who creates home wares that brings to life  some very iconic moments mainly from Melbourne –  MJG is loving this cheeky cushion (its reversable)

The rivalry between Melbourne and Sydney is well known, each city having its own personality and distinct charms MJG is fortunate to spend his time between these two great two cities.

Growing up in Melbourne where he also started his styling career before moving to Sydney and Bondi. It’s true they are two of the best cities in the world – which is better? MJG is calling this one a draw!
